One intercontinental flight can produce up to 1.6 tons of CO2, with a trans-Atlantic trip emitting up to 3 tons. There is no doubt that flying less is a vital part of our action on climate change.
Bristol was the first council to declare a climate emergency, yet alsosupports Bristol airport expansion. Expanding aviation is not compatible with meeting carbon reduction targets.
