Winter conference postponed to 16th January

Winter conference now after the general election
Our winter conference was planned before the General Election campaign began. Now the Election is set for Dec 12th, less than a week after the date we set, we’ve had a rethink. After much debate, we feel it will be better to postpone our conference until after Christmas, and have decided to move it to the 16th January, at the same venue.

That will give us a clearer view of the context in which we are planning our work in 2020. This has been called the “climate election”. Let’s hope so! In any case, while we are non-aligned, the possible outcomes seem very different. It will allow us to divert some of our effort into informing regional discussion of the election. (Watch our website and social media channels for updates on the candidates in our region and their positions on climate change.) And it will allow some of us (and perhaps you) to get involved in this election in other ways.

We apologise to those of you who have already booked for the conference. We very much hope to see you on the new date, Thursday January 16th, at the Elmgrove Centre, Bristol. Come and help us gather our energies for what is set to be a vital year for climate action!
