Vision, Mission and Values

Our vision is a West of England that is zero carbon, zero waste, fair and prosperous by 2030.

The Zero West initiative aims to:

  • Accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon, zero-waste society in the West of England
  • Facilitate ambitious physical infrastructure projects
  • Promote high levels of local and community support, ownership and participation in such projects
  • Work with people across the region to develop visions of a zero carbon, zero waste, fair and prosperous future, and creative strategies to get there
  • To collaborate with other local organisations in working towards the vision

  • To act locally and recognise our interdependence with neighbouring regions and beyond
  • To contribute towards climate justice
  • To work in a way that is inclusive and collaborative and strive for broad representation and diversity
  • To be democratic in how we run our organisation
